Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, spoke regarding the intentions of the United States government to acquire Venezuelan oil. This is due to the cessation of purchases from Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.
In a press conference, the Chavista official said that this is a possibility that can materialize.
“Venezuela has the oil that many need, including the United States… but they have to pay for it, they must pay for it,” said Cabello.
In this sense, he added: “It is important to remember, because there was a lot of criticism from sectors that know everything, that when Commander Chávez, at the worst moment of relations with United Stateswe sold oil to him».
Cabello also commented that the possibility of dealing with other topics opens up.

He also referred to the fact that Venezuelan reserves will last a long time: “There is no way or way that it will end in 10 years, or in 20 or 30, there is oil for 100 years here.”
He also indicated that a war might cause less oil to be produced. “It is a commodity that is scarce and prices skyrocket. I didn’t invent that, it’s the law of supply and demand. Very old », he commented.
