We have reached the semis, but that is the main problem; Ex-player in concern, India’s Antakar

India’s opponent in the semi-final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is Australia. Australia came as India’s rivals following finishing first in Group B.

This does not bode well for India. Australia has a history of upsetting India in the knock-out stages earlier.

Australia defeated India in the final match of the last ICC T20 World Cup. As the Aussies were unable to cross the mountain, India fell from being close to the crown.

In last year’s Commonwealth Games as well, India’s opponents in the finals were Australia. India was still destined to lose in the final.

Now, Australia are once once more India’s rivals in the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup knock-out stage. Indian cricket fans will watch the semi-final match more than the final.

Former India player, cricket analyst and commentator Akash Chopra is also worried ahead of the semi-finals.

Our girls have reached the semi-finals. The main problem we have to deal with is Australia. It will never be easy,’ said Chopra regarding the competition.

India qualified for the semi-finals following defeating Ireland by five runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern rule in the last match of the group stage.

Earlier, India had three wins and one loss out of four matches played in the group stage match. After defeating Pakistan in the first match, India repeated the victory once morest West Indies in the second match.

But India was destined to lose to England in the third match. But following defeating Ireland in the fourth match, they marched to the semi-finals as the second runners-up from Group B.

Australia went into the semi-finals without losing a single match in Group A.

The India-Australia semi-final match will be held on February 23. The venue is Newlands.
