The “Sabah” butcher shop tells the story of Muhammed Tas and Sebahattin Ozturk, two former factory coworkers who decided last July to open a 100% halal and oriental butcher shop in the center of Hannut. This new venture continues “Sebo Market”, the oriental grocery store that the duo launched seven months earlier on Rue Albert I.
“Sabah” was established in the old butcher shop “The House of Meat”, which opened in September 2023 but closed shortly thereafter. “The feedback has been very positive. We have attracted good clientele, especially during barbecue season,” noted Muhammed. To everyone’s surprise, the brand suddenly chose to close its doors, a decision the manager justifies.

Exploring Sabah: Hannut’s 100% Halal Butcher Shop
The “Sabah” butcher shop is the exciting story of Muhammed Tas and Sebahattin Ozturk, two former factory colleagues who decided to chase their dream last July by opening a shop that specializes in 100% halal and oriental meat in the center of Hannut. This venture is a continuation of their earlier project, “Sebo Market”, an oriental grocery store they inaugurated just seven months prior on Rue Albert I.
Sabah has taken over the space of the previous butcher shop, “The House of Meat”, which opened in September 2023 but closed shortly afterward. Despite this turnover, Muhammed reports that the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly during the peak barbecue season. “We have attracted a good clientele,” he notes proudly.
