The Kerala Blasters lost to Hyderabad in a penalty shootout in the final of the eighth season of the Indian Super League. The match ended in a draw in regulation time and extra time and the match went to a penalty. Hyderabad goalkeeper Kattimani blocked three of the four kicks taken by the Kerala Blasters.
Kerala Blasters coach Ivan has now seen the media following the match. The coach said they have a lot to be proud of this season.
In the words of the coach .. “We have a lot to be proud of this season. From the support and smiles we received, we achieved what no one expected. I am happy regarding that. ” The first half was great and the Kerala Blasters were disappointed in the second half. This is what he said when asked regarding it.
“This is an aspect we use in our game. It’s not like we use it all the time. It has been very difficult to play in Goa for the last 15 to 20 days. Because now Goa has become a very humid place. We were the best team in the first half.
We handled the ball well with our passing and then we got two chances. But when we play a game like this, we know that the outcome will be decided by a goal. When playing once morest a strong team in the final, one goal can decide everything. We tried some new things with the stars instead. But it did not work, “said Ivan.
