The members of a British family found themselves without clothes or basic necessities when they arrived in Fuerteventura, when they thought they were spending a dream vacation in Spain. Three days following their arrival, they still do not know where their luggage is.
Mum Emma called their airline several times: “I must have called Ryanair 30 times but they keep telling me it’s Manchester Airport’s fault. Three other families who are in our hotel in Spain have also lost their luggage”.
500 euros of new clothes
The family was finally forced to buy new clothes: “We had to spend around 500 euros just for that,” says the mother. “I don’t know if we will be compensated. We are lucky to have the means to buy ourselves new clothes but this is not the case for everyone! “, she is offended.
Ryanair responded in a statement: “Due to a baggage carousel failure at Manchester Airport on May 28, some passengers were unable to collect their baggage upon arrival in Fuerteventura. We are working with our handling agents to return lost suitcases to their owners and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay.”
