We emphasized the continuity of the school year in Tripoli and the keenness on formal education in Lebanon

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Halabi, stated, following his meeting with Sheikh Al-Aql of the Unitarian Druze sect Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Mana in the community house – Verdun, “I was honored to visit Abi Al-Muna to discuss several issues, including the tragedy that befell the educational family with the death of the student Maguy Mahmoud and the injury of Her two companions, Hassan and Shaza, and we emphasized solidarity with the families and keenness to follow up the investigation, in order to arrange criminal and civil responsibilities for the perpetrators, perpetrators and participants. We also emphasized the continuity of the school year in Tripoli and keenness on formal education in Lebanon. In the educational family and his interest in this area, where we stressed together to protect the school in its official and private sections, away from the populist discourses that have spread recently.

He added: “We discussed with him the issue of holding spiritual summits and consultations in this regard, as there is a great need these days to achieve class unity and a national position in the face of national and constitutional entitlements in the country. My father Al-Mana conveyed to us as a result of the Teachers Syndicate’s visit to private schools to him recently and the demands that he made I submitted them, and we also know them, and so we will seek, God willing, to achieve these demands, in cooperation with the government and the honorable Parliament, especially with regard to the unity of legislation between the official and private sectors.

Abi Al-Muna also received a delegation from the “National Committee of the International Union for Nature” IUCN headed by Fadi Ghanem, which included: Professors Nadim Nassour and Michel Hassoun. The research dealt with general national and environmental issues, including the plan for the next four years.

On the other hand, Abi Al-Mona cabled Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Baris Ulusoy and Director of the Turkish Development Agency “TIKA” in Lebanon Orhan Aydin, offering condolences for the victims of the “terrorist explosion that targeted the city of Istanbul,” during which he wished “the esteemed Turkish presidency, the agency and the friendly Turkish people continued prosperity.” And the rise and strength of immunity, in the face of any aggression aimed at destabilizing Turkey.”
