“We don’t talk this way” .. Why did Queen Elizabeth “scold” her grandson’s wife?

In a new book, a British writer noted a “clash” between the late Queen Elizabeth II and Meghan Markle, the wife of her grandson, Harry, while planning their wedding in 2018.

The British newspaper, the Mail on Sunday, published excerpts from the book “The New Royals: The Legacy of Queen Elizabeth and the Future of the Crown” by Katie Nicholl, regarding the tensions that were in the palace during the weeks and months leading up to Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

And Queen Elizabeth II “scolded” Markle while planning the wedding, according to the website Insider Quote from the book.

A source told Nicole that Meghan was “extremely annoyed” by a staff member at the palace while tasting a dish on the wedding menu because it was supposed to be vegetarian and tasted like eggs.

The atmosphere was “tense” during the conversation between Meghan and the palace employee, until the Queen intervened. The source told Nicole: “Suddenly the Queen came in and said: ‘Meghan! In this family, we don’t talk to people like that.”

The book did not mention what Meghan had told the employee specifically, which prompted the Queen to intervene.

Queen Elizabeth II was also surprised by Megan’s choice of the pure white color of the wedding dress, because she believed that this color should not be worn, if she had been married before.

And Megan had said in a previous interview with the famous presenter, Oprah Winfrey, that the wife of Prince William, Harry’s brother, Kate Middleton, made her cry during her wedding week due to a dispute over the dress of the latter’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, during the wedding.

Harry and Megan announced, last year, that they gave up all their official titles, following they assured the Queen that they would permanently withdraw from the royal family and move to live in the United States.
