“That’s why I’m worried,” he declared. He asked Soltz what he should keep in mind, “if I don’t want to try cannabis at all and I don’t want to put my health at risk.”

Germany passed legislation in February legalizing cannabis, allowing individuals and associations to grow and possess limited amounts. “The answer is very simple: don’t smoke. I will be 66 this year and I have never smoked cannabis,” the chancellor said.
Germany’s new cannabis legislation, which came into effect on April 1, aims to curb, not increase, cannabis use by taking it “out of the gray area”.
“We don’t want more people using cannabis, we want fewer people using cannabis, we want more public awareness of it,” said Soltz.
