President Nicolás Maduro told the international community that Venezuela “has no guardians and does not accept intervention” in the event of any “electoral conflict” that may occur in the country.

“The Venezuelan Constitution establishes that any conflict (…) of an electoral nature, whether involving a neighborhood association, a condominium board, a mayor’s office, a governor’s office or presidential elections, is resolved by our institutions and constitutionality in a sovereign manner,” said Maduro, during a meeting with the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

He added that, for this reason, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) is carrying out the expert appraisal of the minutes of the presidential elections on Sunday, after he himself filed an electoral dispute.
