Captain of the Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo addressed the fans following the team’s elimination from the 2024 European Football Championship.

“We are grateful for everything you have given us. And for everything we have achieved. I am sure that on and off the pitch this legacy will be honoured and developed,” Ronaldo wrote on social media.
In early July, 39-year-old Ronaldo said that the European Football Championship in Germany would be the last in his career. At club level, the forward plays for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.
