The cutest and most amazing couple on the web
Nikkie and Jamie are from Melbourne and met on MySpace. Nikkie was a model in New York working for the major modeling agency IMG, and Jamie was a professional music production photographer. When Jamie wanted to propose to his beloved, he told himself he had to do something exceptional since she spent her time on the networks watching incredibly romantic marriage proposal videos, reports the Daily Mail, March 11, 2018.
Jamie then created a video in which he proposed to his partner. She, by watching it, discovered the surprise that her darling had concocted for her.
“My friend filmed my request and we uploaded it to YouTube to share with the family,” says Jamie.
The couple therefore posted this memorable video online which went viral. Thousands of Internet users found this “Café au lait” couple adorable and atypical to say the least.
“People in the comments wanted to know who we were. That’s how we got into vlogging,” he adds.
A successful YouTube channel for fans of the couple and their child
The couple’s YouTube channel includes several videos that retrace their life and allow their fans to see their development and what their beautiful mixed-race babies look like. On the channel, for example, we can find the wedding video which received nearly eight million likes. We can also watch the one which announces the arrival of Nikkie’s second baby and where we can see her well-rounded belly.
“We literally fell into it. This was never planned,” says Jamie. “People think we share everything with them, but we keep a lot of our lives to ourselves. We enjoy putting videos online and it will be great to watch them in 10 or 20 years and see what we were doing,” he adds.

How to start a conversation on the theme of identity with a mixed race child?
Mixed race children may face issues of identity and belonging. So to help them have clear ideas, Jenn Noble, clinical psychologist, gives advice and explanations for the KQED television channel website:
Talk to your children regarding race even if it seems difficult, because you have to prepare them for the outside world and different prejudices; If you don’t have the words to explain what mixed race means, read them books and watch films with them regarding mixed race characters; Mixed race children need to have a good understanding of both cultural backgrounds (language, food, practices, etc.) in order for them to feel complete.
