Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri affirmed readiness to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty and rights, and that the demarcation ball today is in the court of American negotiator Amos Hochstein.
During the central festival organized by the Amal movement on the forty-fourth anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his two companions in the city of Tire, President Berri stressed that whoever is betting on a dispute between the Amal movement and Hezbollah is more important.
Speaker Berri considered the constitutional benefits a beginning of hope for all of Lebanon, not the other way around, declaring his readiness to overcome the obstacles to forming a government.
Speaker Berri stressed that the current Libyan authorities’ failure to cooperate with the investigation into the case of Imam al-Sadr makes it a partner in the crime of his kidnapping, stressing the role of the Lebanese government and the Arab League in uncovering the circumstances of this crime.
