Two advantages of the future Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 have already been officially unveiled: its finesse and its hinge which allows the folding of the internal screen to be erased under the finger.
Xiaomi wants to play spoilsport. The day after the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, the Chinese brand has planned to face its Korean competitor head-on. Thus, on August 11, the Mix Fold 2 will be officially unveiled. The name leaves no room for doubt: it’s a new foldable smartphone that will take over from the Mi Mix Fold first of the name.
A very thin foldable smartphone
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is therefore teased insistently by its manufacturer, in particular on the official Weibo account. There are thus two promotional images highlighting what should be the main quality of the device in terms of design: its finesse and its well-camouflaged fold. Indeed, in the first visual, we see the folding smartphone in profile and unfolded in tablet format. You can see how thin it is.
Finding reinforced by the inscription above where it is mentioned a thickness of 5.4 mm only. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 released in 2021 is 6.4mm thick when unfolded.
Reduced crease on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2
The other image shared by Xiaomi highlights the hinge in the format “micro goutte ».
Technology already used on theOppo Find N, this allows the internal screen to adopt a teardrop shape at its hollow when the device is folded. And the advantage of this method lies in the fact that the hinge will be able to apply a slight pressure at the level of the fold when the Mix Fold 2 is unfolded.
