WD’s first 44TB My Book Duo desktop hard drive: the asking price exceeds 45,000 yuan | T Kebang

WD announced the launch of the new My Book desktop external hard drive, divided into two models,The maximum capacity of a single disc is 22TB, and the maximum capacity of the dual-disk My Book Duo reaches an astonishing 44TB.

The latter also supports flexible configuration asRAID 1 (redundant backup) or JBOD (dual independent disks)can be realized through the built-in software, and the default is RAID 0 mode.

Interface includesOne USB-C 3.0, two USB-A 3.0the transmission rate is 5Gbps, and CC and CA adapter cables are included.

The WD My Book series is somewhat similar to NAS, but it is generally used as an independent desktop storage device with a certain degree of portability in mind. Although it is not as convenient as a mobile hard drive, it is superior in that the capacity can be super large.

WD did not disclose the details of the built-in hard drive, but as usual it comes from the Red Label series, which is the WD Red Pro 22TB launched in July last year.

The 22TB WD Purple Pro CMR HDD with OptiNAND technology is an application-specific enterprise-class hard drive. In addition to the large capacity that can cope with the trend, it is also designed to support image analysis servers, AI and deep learning systems. My Book 22TB is priced at US$599.99 (regarding NT$18,200), and My Book Duo 44TB is priced at US$1,499.99 (regarding NT$45,500).
