1009 people participated in the research through an online survey. A third of them would like to see Jagr in the lineup at the home World Cup, half disagree. More women (37 percent) than men (29 percent) and people aged 30 to 44 (43 percent) would like to see the legend of Czech hockey on the ice.

Eleven percent of people also answered that David Pastrňák is the key forward who should not be missing from the lineup. However, he is still fighting with Boston for the Stanley Cup in the NHL.

WC in hockey 2024

The 87th edition of the Ice Hockey World Championship takes place from 10 to 26 May 2024 in the Czech Republic, the tournament will be divided between the cities of Prague and Ostrava.

Half of the respondents assume that the championship in Prague and Ostrava will break the previous record in average attendance per match (currently 11,589), which was also set in 2015 at the World Cup in the Czech Republic.

Up to 27 percent of people estimate that the Czech team’s journey in the tournament will end in the quarterfinals. Three percent of people assume that coach Radim Rulík’s men will not even get into the knockout stages. The rest believe that the national team will reach the top four. As far as medals are concerned, most respondents (17 percent) believe in bronze. Another 16 percent in gold, seven in silver and 14 percent of people are betting that the national team will finish in fourth place.
