Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will get a total of 48 new tracks via DLCs The first 24 tracks were released last year. On March 9th we get the next two cups with 8 new tracks!

Next week it’s finally going on!

The announcement that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via DLCs in the form of 6 waves with a total of 12 new cups with 48 new routes came in February 2022. All waves should have appeared by the end of 2023. The first two cups with 8 new routes were released on March 18, 2022. On August 4th, 2022 we continued with 2 cups with 8 new routes. So also on December 7th, 2022. Now we get another 8 routes on March 9th, 2023.

The trailer with date

The next wave was announced with a trailer showing all routes. Unfortunately there are none this time SNES and N64-Classic here. For this we get a brand new spread from Yoshi donated!

Goodbye is fun!

Here is an overview of the two cups with their routes:

fruit cup

  • exit Amsterdam (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Riverside Park (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
  • DK Skiing (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Yoshi’s Island (Brand New Track!)

Boomerang-Cup

  • Bangkok afterglow (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Marios Piste (Mario Kart DS)
  • Waluigi-Arena (Mario Kart Double Dash)
  • Fast Lane Singapore (Mario Kart Tour)

This time we get three again Mario Kart tour routes. Even if they don’t sound as cool as the classic ones Mario Kart titles, we have to admit that the Tour routes are very varied, as the routes are different every lap. We are very into that DK Ski toboggan excited and very excited Yoshi’s Island. This is the second new route that we get through the route pass. The first was Ice Cream Ecapade (which for Mario Kart Tour planned for a later date).

Twice as much Mario Kart 8

The six waves of the DLC are for Nintendo Switch Online+ Expansion Pack Members free. For everyone else there is a one-off payment of 24.99 euros. That’s very fair for 48 tracks. Finally, we get double of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe missed because in the end you will have as many cups and routes as before. Basically you can do it as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2 regard. The cost of the DLC is half the price of Mario Kart 8, for which you get double the content. The DLCs of Wii U Incidentally, each with 8 routes cost 8.00 euros each or both in a set 11.00 euros.

When are the next routes coming?

The time between the first three waves was almost 4 months (March 18, 2022, August 4, 2022, December 7 and March 9). There are still 12 months left until the end of 2023. Each DLC comes with 2 new cups with 4 tracks each. So there are 16 tracks left, which means only 2 DLCs left. Clearly, that still means a new one Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC every 4 months! Of course, that’s just an estimate, because Nintendo will release this DLC when Nintendo likes it or when the tracks are programmed. But so we should expect the next wave in July or August 2023! But enough speculation, we’re looking forward to hot races on the 8 new tracks that will be released on March 9th!

Mario Kart 8 was already the best-selling game on the Nintendo Wii U. With the Nintendo Switch version Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from 2017 with over 45 million units sold, the port is also one of the best-selling games on the current consoles.
