The water strategy in Morocco and the protection measures in a difficult water situation that the country is going through was the subject of a communication meeting held this Wednesday morning in Rabat.
Organized by the Moroccan Media Federation (FMM), in the presence of media personalities and members of the federation, in addition to the guest of this meeting, Abderrahim el Hafidi, Director General of the National Office of Electricity and drinking water (ONEP). In this regard, he stressed that the management of the water deficit requires encouraging innovative technologies in the field of water, also referring to the new model in Morocco for the development of non-conventional water resources, in particular the desalination of water. water and the recycling of treated wastewater to reduce dependence on traditional water resources affected by climate change.

And to emphasize that the office has sought, in recent years, to take urgent measures that have enabled Morocco to overcome the problems of electricity and water cuts. He also mentioned the most important reforms that contribute to improving the level of efficiency and performance of electrical systems and the development of techniques and technologies, including technical and financial investment in smart grids. Objective: to make electricity systems more flexible and reliable, their top priority being to speed up the current electricity connection between cities. And finally, El Hafidi reiterated his recognition of the important role of media institutions in raising awareness among citizens on the rationalization of electricity and drinking water consumption.
