The Cachamay, Universidad and Unare parishes in Puerto Ordaz will not have water service due to maintenance work.
The Bolívar State Hydrology Agency (Hidrobolívar), informed through a statement that the communities of the parishes of Cachamay, Universidad and 60% of Unare, the piped water service will be interrupted due to the day of chopping and pruning in the Puerto Ordaz aqueduct.
Daniel Valenzuela, president of the organization, reports that on Tuesday morning, the aqueduct suffered two voltage drops, where the hydrological together with the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) carried out an exhaustive review.
“There we determined that there was a line that carries electricity to the Puerto Ordaz Aqueduct, which had to be maintained by picking and pruning because they were touching the trees of the high voltage lines,” he says.
Today – Thursday – maintenance was carried out, so that once it is finished, operations can start and the communities have the service.
Valenzuela adds that since the equipment was installed, the drinking water supply failure has been corrected in Puerto Ordaz.
It is expected that during the followingnoon the service will be restored in the three aforementioned parishes.
