Water Safety Alert in Limbourg: Take Precautions in Relation to Water Distribution Network

The municipality of Limbourg advised to take precautions in relation to the water distribution network in the villages of Limbourg, Goé and Dolhain this Thursday followingnoon.

“As a precautionary measure, and due to the presence of particles, not exactly identified at this time, in the water pipes at rue de l’Invasion, it is very strongly recommended to citizens of the villages of Limbourg ( Halloux to l’Étoile), Goé and Dolhain not to use running water, either for food consumption or for other uses such as washing food, hands or others,” announced the municipality in a press release .

At 4:10 p.m., the municipality was still awaiting information and analysis feedback from the SWDE.

It was within the Corman factory that we became aware of a problem, explains Luc Delhez, the Works alderman. “Before using the water, they filter it and analyze it. They realized this morning that the results were not good. » We don’t know yet what they found wrong. The factory has been shut down since Thursday morning. The problem is in any case imperceptible to the naked eye. No resident noticed anything.

The SWDE communicated its results in relation to this phenomenon in the evening. And the distribution network has returned to normal. “The SWDE has just transmitted information to the City of Limburg that the phenomenon detected in the Eupen-Seraing pipe at the entrance to the municipal territory is linked to the maintenance of this pipe, and that therefore it does not call into question the potability of water. The water passing through this supply remains drinkable and can, therefore, be consumed once more by the citizens of the City of Limburg,” explained the municipality in a press release in the evening. »

All’s well that ends well and this is a significant relief for the population.
