Water bay at the fairgrounds: “Costs have to be on the table”

Next summer is coming to an end, but the Urfahran fairgrounds haven’t changed this year either. Most recently, planning councilor Dietmar Prammer (SP) announced 2024 as the starting point for greening and partially unsealing the area.

However, Prammer did not mention a specific investment amount when making this announcement at the beginning of August, but it is clear that the controversial water bay will not be part of the future plans. The SPÖ and FPÖ had previously advocated leaving these out for cost reasons.

Inquiry to the planning councilor

Local councilor Victoria Langbauer now wants the status of the planning and the actual costs to be put on the table. She made a corresponding request to Prammer in the local council on September 21st. “We don’t know how much the project with the Danube Bay would actually cost,” criticizes the VP politician, “we also don’t know what exactly would be planned. What we do know is that planning costs for the project have been decided. Now There will be a follow-up order to the architects – but we don’t know anything about that either.”

Langbauer reiterates the demand to implement the water bay; she is convinced that this would make the area more attractive and alleviate the heat problem.
