watchOS 10 will expand Optimized Charging Limit to more watches

Among the novelties of watchOS 10announced yesterday, is the feature expansion Optimized Loading Limit for more Apple Watch models. Initially introduced with watchOS 9 on Apple Watch Ultrait will be extended to the Apple Watches SE, Series 6, Series 7 e Series 8.

Optimized Charging Limit uses on-device machine learning to analyze daily usage patterns and adjust the maximum charge limit for your Apple Watch batteries. The goal is to reduce battery degradation caused by recharging and optimize battery health.

The resource, it is worth mentioning, works together with the Optimized Loading, which delays a full charge until just before the Apple Watch is used. By anticipating the user’s battery needs, Optimized Charge Threshold ensures that the device is only charged to a level necessary to meet those requirements.

Optimized Load Limiting is an optional feature that is enabled by default. It primarily operates in frequently visited locations, such as at home or at work, where charging patterns are more consistent.

watchOS 10 will be available later this year for Apple Watch Series 4 or higher, paired with iPhone XS or newer models, running iOS 17. The developer beta is available now, and a public beta will be available next month.
