The Astronomy and Space Corner of the Darb Rubaidah Winter Festival, which is organized by the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority in the village of “Lina Al-Hariki” in the Rafha Governorate, witnessed great popularity and turnout from its visitors.

The Astronomy and Space Corner presented several astronomical educational aspects, models of star constellations, and included astronomical telescopes for visitors. To enable them to view the details of the planets such as Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, the moon and the stars.

On this occasion, a member of the Horizons Association for Astronomy, and the presenter of the Stars and Planets program at the festival, Barjas Al-Falih, said that the astronomy corner provides its visitors with scientific and educational information, an experience to observe the state of the sky through telescopes, and to get acquainted with the most prominent stars and constellations and their names, ancient and modern, and the devices used to monitor the conditions of astronomy. The effect is to ignite the sense of meditation and stimulate the mind.

He added: Multiple information is provided such as: knowing the beginning and end of the month, the alignment of the planets: Jupiter, Venus and the moon, as happened the day before yesterday and yesterday, the conjunction of the Pleiades with the moon, in addition to highlights on important things such as: knowing the times, conjunctions, the distance of the planets, and knowing the directions Through the stellar constellations, including; Capricorn star.

He pointed out that the program falls under the activities aimed at spreading the general astronomical culture to encourage looking at the sky and contemplating this universe and its sciences.

It is noteworthy that the Darb Zubaydah Winter Festival continues its activities amidst a remarkable presence, and a variety of programs, events and various and purposeful activities, amid the increasing number of market visitors from the region and abroad, and from the GCC countries, as it continues until the 15th of next March.
