Al-Ahly defender raises controversy in Egypt
According to what was circulated, the incident occurred in the city of Mansoura in the Dakahlia Governorate (northern Egypt), when a fan criticized him and directed him with “provocative words.”
The circulating video showed an “exchange of punches and insults” between the player and the fans, and activists on the communication sites criticized what the Red Devils player did, while others spoke of “the fan attacking the player in front of his wife.”
Commenting on the incident, a source close to the Egyptian player said: “Yasser Ibrahim, the Al-Ahly defender, was buying some things with his wife, but he was surprised by a fan who says that he belongs to the Zamalek club and is insulting and harassing him while he is in front of his wife.”
He added: “Yasser Ibrahim approached him at first and told him a text that is wrong with this speech, but the fan continued to speak and cursed at Al-Ahly’s defender.”
He continued, “The fan went to Yasser Ibrahim and attacked him, which made the Al-Ahly player also attack him.”
The source said: “Yasser was in front of his wife and might not be silent in front of a person who assaulted him with insults, but rather he attacked him first.”
The Egyptian security services were quick to arrest the young man who got into a quarrel with the Al-Ahly club player following verbally criticizing him.
After his arrest, the young player Ibrahim apologized and proceeded to reconcile with him.
