The Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand promises to be exciting. This is how you can watch the games of the World Cup live on TV and in the stream.

Sydney – From July 20 to August 20, 2023, the Women’s World Cup will take place in Australia and New Zealand. After FIFA increased the field of participants, 32 associations are fighting for the coveted title for the first time. The German national team arrives with the clear goal of winning the title.

Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand: 32 teams at the start for the first time

As with the men’s World Cup, the game will be played in eight groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group advance to the round of 16 and play out the quarter-finalists in knockout mode. The associations ranked third and fourth in the group are eliminated following the preliminary round.

There will be a total of 64 matches at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The individual teams have to play in a total of nine locations and ten stadiums. The German national team will play their three group games in Australia. Venues for the DFB women’s games are Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Should the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg reach the final, they will go to Sydney once more.

In addition to the two top favorites, the teams from Japan, Canada, France, Sweden, France, Spain and Brazil are among the strongest teams in the tournament. The German national team also ranks among these teams, which is a little weaker than England and the USA, but is on a par with the other co-favourites.
