From Mars, the Earth and the Moon are barely visible. In recent images captured by the European Space Agency (ESA), you can see the Moon orbiting our planet, seen from the Red Planet. The lunar star only looks like a point. Explanations.
These ESA images were obtained by Mars Express, a probe in Mars orbit. They reveal “what you would see through binoculars as a human traveler to Mars”explained the agency on Twitter.

Taken over several days, on May 15, 21, 27 and June 2, 2023, these photographs correspond to half of a monthly orbit of the Moon around the Earth. During this period, the distance between Earth and Mars varied from 279,186,624 km to 301,016,265 km.
“In these simple shots from Mars Express, the Earth is the size of an ant seen from 100 meters away, and we are all inside. Even though we’ve seen images like these before, it’s still humble to pause and think we need to take care of the pale blue dot, there is no planet B.”explained Jorge Hernández Bernal, member of the University of the Basque Country and the Mars Express team.
This vision of Mars Express on our planet and the Moon makes it seem like we’re just a tiny speck of dust in the Universe. And Man is still far from being able to claim to observe the Earth and the Moon from the surface of Mars. To go further, admire the planet Mars thanks to these new ultraviolet images.
