Al-Marsad newspaper: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority continued its efforts to confront smuggling attempts by employers, as it managed to thwart 3 attempts to smuggle 302,255 thousand Captagon pills at Al-Haditha port, which were found hidden in consignments and accompanied by passengers coming to the Kingdom through the port.

The authority explained that when a number of consignments were subject to customs procedures and examined through security techniques and live means, “sniffer dogs”, these quantities of Captagon pills were found hidden in different ways, as it explained that in the first aborted attempt, 261,630 Captagon pills were found. It was found hidden inside the truck’s fuel tank.

The authority added that the port was also able to thwart a second smuggling attempt, following finding (31,325) Captagon pills hidden inside medical braces that the smuggler was wearing around his body.

The authority added that in the third attempt, 9,300 Captagon pills were foiled following the smuggler had hidden them in an artistic way in stone wall paintings.

The authority explained that following the seizure operations were completed, coordination was carried out with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, and by the grace of God they were arrested, and they numbered 3 people.
