Al-Marsad newspaper: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority managed to thwart 5 attempts to smuggle more than 168 kilograms of the narcotic substance “Shabu”, following finding it hidden in consignments, and with people who came to the Kingdom through a number of customs ports.
The authority explained that in the first attempt, which was at the customs of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, an attempt to smuggle more than 6 kilograms of “Shabu” was thwarted, following it was found hidden inside a passenger’s bag, while the second attempt was thwarted at the Batha port, where More than 10 kilograms of the same substance was found hidden in one of the trucks coming through the port, by hiding it inside tissue boxes that were accompanied by the truck driver.
At King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the authority was also able to thwart an attempt to smuggle regarding 5 kilograms of the narcotic substance “Shabu”, hidden in the luggage of a passenger arriving through the airport.
In the fourth attempt, the authority managed at the Empty Quarter outlet to thwart regarding 114 kilograms of shabu, which was found hidden inside the reserve fuel tank of one of the oncoming vehicles, and an attempt to smuggle more than 33 kilograms of the same substance, which was found inside the fuel tank of another vehicle, was also thwarted. coming through the Empty Quarter.
The authority stated that following the seizure operations were completed, coordination was coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, where they were arrested, numbering 4 people.
