Al-Marsad newspaper: The head of the Iraqi “Coalition of State of Law”, Nuri al-Maliki, fled this evening, Monday, on a Mi-17 plane from the Green Zone in central Baghdad to an unknown destination.

Today, Monday, Radio Monte Carlo revealed that the house of the head of the Iraqi “Coalition of State of Law”, Nuri al-Maliki, had been evacuated inside the Green Zone and smuggled to an unknown destination following storming the government palace.

This came following the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced his retirement from political activity once and for all. Following al-Sadr’s announcement, dozens of his supporters stormed the Republican Palace in Baghdad to express their anger, while they have been calling for comprehensive political reforms for months.
