Al-Marsad newspaper: The General Supervisor of the Rahma Society for Animal Welfare, Bader Al-Tarif, revealed the details of the incident of a pet dog being abused by its owner in the Laban neighborhood of Riyadh, and it occupied the Twitter platform following it was widely circulated.

Al-Tarif said during his meeting on the “My Lady” program broadcast on Gulf Rotana: “The issue made the trend yesterday, which indicates that it is a strange behavior or an anomaly, but thank God that these cases are few in the Kingdom, but the efforts made by government sectors, whether the Ministry of Environment represented by the Department of Environment Animal Welfare The Ministry of Resources has also licensed 5 animal welfare associations, which also have efforts to spread awareness, protect, care, rescue and assist animals.”
He added: “Praise be to God that what happened is an individual case, but unfortunately these clips can be issued abroad and offend us, and we are Muslims in the first place, and Islam urges us to be kind to animals, as the nature of society is legally, customs, traditions, custom and humanity condemns such events.”
He pointed out that the association monitored the reports submitted by many as soon as they saw the video via social media, and the case was directly addressed.

For her part, Mrs. Madawi Al-Sheikh, who started saving the dog with the participation of 3 other women, recounted: “When we watched the painful video clip in which the person appeared to be abusing the dog, we might not wait and decided to inform the concerned authorities, but we took another quick step to save the dog and went to the place of the incident under the pretext of buying the dog. And they told us that the dog was afraid and was present with him following the abuse he was subjected to from his owner.

Madawi described the dog’s condition following seeing it, saying: “The scene was very painful. He (the dog) was in the corner, broken and afraid, with traces of beatings, and his eyes were red and his feet were tied with a tie. We decided not to go without him, but the owner of the dog refused and it turned out that he is a sick and abnormal person.”
