**Interviewer:** stephen, welcome to Archyde! Its been a few months since you debuted “Reach For The Sky” live, a track many fans didn’t even know existed.Tell us about its origins and why it never made it onto *out Of The Cellar*.
**Stephen Pearcy:** Thanks for having me! “Reach For The Sky” is a real blast from the past. We actually recorded it during the *Out Of The Cellar* sessions back in ’83. It had this raw, high-energy vibe that was a little different from the direction we ultimately went with the album.
We had a ton of material back then, and sometimes tough decisions have to be made when you’re putting together a record. Tracks got shelved, you know? Sometimes they just don’t fit the flow or the overall narrative you’re trying to create.
**Interviewer:** But it finally saw the light of day this year, first on that limited-edition *Out Of The Cellar* 40th anniversary release and then you performed it live for the first time? What prompted that decision after all these years?
**Stephen Pearcy:** It just felt like the right time.
The 40th anniversary was a big milestone for the album and for RATT. we wanted to celebrate it with something special for the fans, something that would give them a glimpse into the band’s early days. “Reach For The Sky” felt like the perfect addition. Plus, performing it live, seeing the crowd’s reaction…that’s pure magic.
**Interviewer:** You guys were such a huge force in the 80s hard rock scene, alongside bands like Mötley Crüe and Twisted Sister. does it ever feel surreal looking back at the impact RATT had on that era?
**Stephen Pearcy:** It’s definitely humbling. Those were crazy times! We were young, hungry, and playing our hearts out every night. We were part of something that changed the music landscape, and it’s amazing to see how that music still resonates with people today.
**Interviewer:** *Out Of The Cellar* is a classic, no question. “Round And Round,” “Back For More,” those songs are anthems. Did you ever imagine back then that those songs would become such timeless hits?
**Stephen Pearcy:** You always hope that your music will connect with people, but you never know for sure. We just poured our hearts into those songs, and it seems like people connected with the energy and the raw emotion. It’s truly an honor to have created something that has stood the test of time.
**Interviewer:** RATT has been through a lot of ups and downs over the years. What’s next for the band? Any new music on the horizon?
