Al-Marsad newspaper: Social media pioneers circulated a video clip, documenting the broadcast of songs through the minaret of the Al-Hussein Complex Mosque in Jordan, during the celebration of the Independence Day.
The video showed that the songs came out of the loudspeakers above the minaret of the mosque, during the celebration of the Independence Day, which falls on Wednesday.
Awqaf responds
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf, Dr. Abdullah Al-Aqeel, explained that the ministry is investigating a video clip that showed the chapel of the King Hussein Business Complex broadcasting patriotic songs through loudspeakers today.
Al-Aqeel said that the chapel is not under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Endowments, because it is a chapel inside a closed facility and not a mosque, but coordination is taking place with the facilities regarding the chapels that are inside, according to the Ammon newspaper.
Independence Day
It is worth noting that on May 25, 1946, following the end of the British Mandate, the United Nations agreed to recognize Jordan as an independent sovereign kingdom, and the Jordanian parliament declared King Abdullah I as king.
