It was found that 44 of the 50 states in the country belong to the flu spread risk group.
Normally, the full-fledged flu season starts around December or January, but this year’s season started a little earlier.
In addition, this year’s flu season overlaps with the spread of the corona and RSV viruses, and concerns regarding a ‘triple demic’ are becoming a reality.
In the midst of this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the flu virus risk in 44 states was very high or high as of last week.
Experts explained that the virus spread greatly through transportation hubs such as airports and Thanksgiving holiday gatherings earlier.
According to the CDC, there have been at least 78,000 hospitalizations and 4,500 deaths so far, 14 of them children.
The CDC advised, “For flu prevention, flu vaccination is recommended for all residents except for newborns under 6 months of age.”
