Polish star Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona striker, won the best player award in the first round of the group stage of the Champions League, and French star Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain’s top scorer, won the goal of the round.
The European Football Association (UEFA), on its official website, announced today, Thursday, that Lewandowski won the award.
Lewandowski beat Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, Peter Zelensky (Napoli, Italy), and Leroy Sane (Bayern Munich).

Lewandowski played the championship role in Barcelona’s 5-1 victory over its guest Viktoria Plzen, the Czech Republic, yesterday, Wednesday, at the start of the two teams’ meetings in the third group of the group stage, which also includes Bayern Munich and Inter, following scoring 3 goals (hat-trick) in the match that was held. Mbappe has the best goal
UEFA also announced the best goal in the first round, as it chose the first goal scored by Kylian Mbappe once morest Juventus, during Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory over the Italian team, the day before yesterday, Tuesday, at the Parc des Princes in the French capital, Paris, in the Group H competition.
And the Champions League said, through its official account on Twitter, today, Thursday, that “Mbappe won the first round prize” given by UEFA for the best goal in each round of the Champions League, sharing a video clip of the French star’s goal and other goals that competed for the award.

Mbappe scored his goal, which won the award once morest Juventus, as it was his first of two goals scored in the Italian team in the match in which Paris Saint-Germain hosted Juve and defeated them 2-1.
The young French star’s goal came following a magical pass from the Brazilian Neymar, as he passed a falling ball in the back of the Juventus defenders, to slip Mbappe among them at his usual speed and score the goal “on the bird” with a single touch into the net.
