Al-Marsad Newspaper: Activists on social media circulated a video clip documenting the sale of cardboard boxes inside the Arar market at a large price of 3150 riyals in an auction.
The video showed that a number of citizens gathered around the seller of truffle boxes in the Arar market, and began bidding to obtain it.
The video showed citizens competing to buy cardboard, as the auction started with 1,000 riyals and ended with 3,150 riyals.
The markets of truffles, or what is known as “faqa”, are witnessing a remarkable turnout these days in the northern border region, with various types and varying prices, with the signs of spring and its appearance early this year following the rains.
