Watch Dogs: film based on the Ubisoft game franchise is in production, says website

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs game franchise may be being adapted for theaters. A film based on the open-world game series is being produced. The information was released by the website Deadline, this Friday (8).

According to the source, there aren’t many details regarding the plot so far, but the story should have the same premise as the games. It is worth mentioning that the Ubisoft does not confirmed the existence of the project or a scheduled release date for the film.


Still according to the Deadline, actress Sophie Wilde is being considered to participate in the film. Besides her, other possible participants were not revealed. However, names were being considered to compose the production’s cast.

It is already known that the filming will be in charge of Mathieu Turi, a director more familiar with horror cinema and responsible for After the Apocalypse and Labyrinth of Terror. The script was written by Christie LeBlanc, also responsible for the plot of Oxigênio.
