Al-Marsad newspaper – Agencies: Turkish defender Aykut Demir refused to wear a shirt with the words “No to War” written on it during the match that brought his team Erzurum Sport and its guest Ankara Gocho in the 27th round of the Turkish Second Division League.

Erzurum Sport club players went out to the stadium, wearing T-shirts that read “No to war” in a call for the return of peace to Ukraine, except for captain Aykut Demir, who appeared wearing the shirt in which his team will play the match.

Demir justified his decision by saying, “Thousands of innocent people die every day in the Middle East. Those who ignore the brutality in this region, and who are silent regarding it, do the exact opposite when it comes to Europe.”
