Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video clip documented a new angle of the appearance of a hostage-taker in a Beirut bank threatening officials to take his entire bank deposits.
The video showed the hostage-taker standing next to a door with a gun in his hand and threatening staff.
According to the information, the arrestee is 42 years old, and his bank account has $210,000, while his brother has $500,000 in his account.
The Lebanese Depositors Association reported that since 2019, banks have smuggled money into the accounts of bank owners and politicians outside Lebanon, indicating that “A Federal Bank is holding a deposit of $200,000 for the armed depositor, and the depositor is determined to obtain his deposit.”
She added: “For 3 years, the depositor tried to request his deposit from the bank, but the bank refused to release the deposit,” noting that “the depositor’s father is in the hospital and needs treatment worth $50,000.”
