Al-Marsad Newspaper: Neurologist Dr. Aisha Al-Bakr revealed that one in four people is at risk of stroke, pointing out that taking aspirin may increase the risk of stroke.

Aisha Al-Bakr said, during an intervention on the “Rased” program, “One out of four people is at risk of a stroke, and therefore this problem should be shed light on.”

She added: “The most important point is how to identify a stroke sufferer. These signs are medically symbolized by the symbol Urgent, which is “P” meaning difficulty in speaking or understanding, “A” crooked mouth. We ask the patient to smile while the stroke patient has crooked mouth. “C” Weakness of movement on the right or left side, “L” Do not delay, because in this case the minutes may make the difference.

And she added, “Two things have also been added, including a vision problem and a balance problem.”

And she stressed: “If all these symptoms occur suddenly, a person should not be late, because the brain becomes like an hourglass, every minute equal to the loss of regarding two million brain cells, so he must not be late.”

Regarding taking aspirin while suspecting a stroke, Aisha said, “This behavior may not be correct, because it is possible that the clot is bloody, and in this case you are harming the patient and not benefiting him, and we cannot be sure of that except following conducting a CT scan of the patient, until we are sure.” It’s not a blood clot, so don’t make it worse.”
