United States – The United States intends to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $400 million, according to the American newspaper Politico.
The newspaper quoted two American officials as saying, “The United States will announce a new military aid package worth $400 million to Ukraine today, Friday.”
The newspaper added that the aid package will include Bradley armored vehicles, Patriot and Stinger air defense missiles, Javelin anti-armor missiles, and other types of ammunition.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden signed an initiative approved by Congress to finance the US government in the current fiscal year (which began in October 2021) with $1.5 trillion. This package includes, among other things, the allocation of $13.6 billion for humanitarian, military and economic aid to Ukraine, and in particular, financing the provision of systems.
As part of the $800 million military aid package announced in mid-March, 800 Stinger systems and 2,000 Javelin systems were sent to Kiev. Before that, Washington announced that more than 600 Stinger systems and regarding 2.6 thousand Javelins would be sent to Ukraine.
