Led by a very present Julie Vanloo, the Washington Mystics came to impose themselves in the Dallas Wings’ arena 86-90, Tuesday evening in the WNBA basketball championship. They thus won their 10th victory of the season.
The Belgian Cat, the starter, played 23 minutes, the time to be the best passer ex aequo (4), the best at 3 points ex aequo (3/7). She scored 11 points (4/10) and captured 3 rebounds (1 offensive).
Even though Washington always led, after 5-5, the Mystics bench, author of 50 of the 90 points, tipped the scales. Emily Engstler, author of 19 points, beat her career high on this occasion.
Washington still occupies 10th place in the standings. The team from the federal capital is however only one victory away from the 8th and final qualifying place for the playoffs with its record of 10 wins and 23 losses. Chicago Sky is 8th (11-22) and Atlanta 9th (11-22). There are seven regular season games left to play. Washington started its season with 12 losses.
