Washington: Al-Houthi’s threats to energy sources are unacceptable

Washington (Union)

The United States expressed deep concern over the end of the UN-brokered truce in Yemen, calling on the terrorist Houthi militia to continue negotiations in good faith.
This came in a statement by the US State Department, yesterday, in which it welcomed the Yemeni government’s support for the expanded truce proposal submitted by the United Nations, and the strong support of countries in the region, the UN Security Council and other international partners.
The statement stressed that the Houthis’ threats to commercial shipping companies and oil companies operating in the region were unacceptable.
The US State Department urged the Houthi militias to continue negotiations in good faith and work with the United Nations to reach an agreement that would extend the armistice and keep Yemen on the path of peace, calling on all parties to exercise restraint during this period.
She pointed out that the only way to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis is through negotiations, not war.
