The man stated that he may have observed the girl at a tram stop on Schottenring around 8 p.m., accompanied by two women, and filmed it with his cell phone, the Vienna police confirmed media reports on Tuesday. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office began investigations.
Missing person report from Interpol
The toddler disappeared from the garden of his parents’ weekend house in an unobserved moment a week ago in the town of Banjsko Polje near the town of Bor, local media reported. A large-scale search and investigation has so far been unsuccessful. The search for the toddler has now also been published on the Interpol website.
Romanian spoken?
The video from Vienna appeared in Serbian online portals over the Easter weekend. The man said the women who had the girl with them spoke Romanian. He was informed regarding the missing person case through social media. After his observations, the witness first contacted the Serbian authorities on the evening of Holy Saturday. Only they contacted the Vienna police with a request for an investigation, explained the Vienna State Police Directorate in response to an APA request.
The man was then interviewed and the video was secured. The exact circumstances, in particular whether it is actually the missing girl, are the subject of an ongoing investigation by the State Criminal Police Office, reported police spokesman Markus Dittrich. There is currently no further information, but the Vienna police will actively inform regarding new developments.
