Faces Golden State Warriors, their Boston counterpart CelticsOn Friday, in the first match of the NBA Finals series, between a team that led the scene in the recent period, and another looking to restore its historical position.
The Warriors returned to their position once more, following qualifying for the final, by winning the Western Region final series 4-1 at the expense of the Dallas Mavericks, following failing even to reach the playoffs during the past two seasons.
Putting behind him the disappointment of the past two seasons, the Warriors finds himself in front of the opportunity to regain his leadership, relying on his record at his “Chase Center” stadium, in which he achieved 9 victories out of the 9 matches he played this season in the playoffs, in an achievement equal to the record that achieved in 2017.
The Warriors wish to continue their brilliance at home when they host the first match (out of seven possible) in the final series, hoping to win the title for the seventh time in the club’s history and the fourth in the last eight seasons, following being crowned by the trio of Stephen Curry, Thomsono and Green in 2015, 2017 and 2018, And before that in 1947 and 1956 when the team was in Philadelphia and 1975 following moving to California under its current name.

Korea’s fourth title ambitions
Corrie hopes to win the fourth league title in his career, while facing the legendary green team, which reached the league final for the first time in 12 years, following overtaking the Miami Heat in the Eastern Region final by seven games, to set a date in the title series with the Warriors for the first time. Since 1964 when he was crowned champion at the expense of the team that was at the time in San Francisco, to win one of his eight titles in a row between 1959 and 1966.
The last time the Celtics qualified for the league final was in 2010, and ended up losing 3-4 to their historic rivals the Los Angeles Lakers, which allowed the latter to become a title away from the green team before equalizing it with 17 titles in 2020.
Thus, the Celtics will now have their chance to regain their historic leadership and once once more reign as the most title-winning team if they beat the Warriors and win their first title since 2008 when they were joined by the quartet of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Ragon Rondo.
