Sudanese red pepper powder has flowed into the market across Taiwan. The Douliu Factory of Jisheng Company in Yunlin County purchased 1,000 kilograms of problematic red pepper powder from Baoxin Enterprise, of which 450 kilograms were made into 8 types of curry powder and sold to 12 counties and cities in Taiwan. The Health Bureau of the Taipei City Government pointed out that only one problematic curry powder was sold to one restaurant in Taipei City, and the Health Bureau has notified the operator to remove a total of 8.91 kilograms of curry powder from the shelves.

Jisheng’s red pepper powder is mainly sold in 12 counties and cities including Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Hualien County, and Yilan County. , the health bureaus of all county and city governments have been notified to order operators in their jurisdictions to carry out recycling and removal work.
The Peking City Health Bureau pointed out that only the “Curry Powder A-KgAP (Expiration Date: 2025.12.26)” product was sold to a catering industry in Taipei City, “Indian Curry Fried Noodles Shop (Indian Style)” and made into a series of curry meals point. After receiving the notice, the Health Bureau immediately asked the operators to remove the relevant products from the shelves. A total of 8.91 kilograms were removed from the shelves, including 8 complete packages and bulk cans weighing 910 grams.
The Beijing Municipal Health Bureau reminds that Sudanese pigments are potentially carcinogenic and are not approved colorants in my country and must not be used in food. Food businesses should implement the management of raw materials and manufacturing processes to avoid violating the law. It also appeals to the public to stop consuming the above-mentioned products immediately and bring the goods to the original store where they were purchased to handle returns.
