Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) was the international programmer with the highest audience on pay TV in 2023, according to data released by Kantar Ibope Media Brasil. The company, which brings together channels such as HBO, TNT, Cartoon Network and CNN Brasil, achieved an average of 2.5 audience points last year, surpassing competitors such as Disney and ViacomCBS.
The company also stood out in terms of its audience retention capacity and relevance, with eight channels appearing in the Top 20 for the longest duration, being the programmer with the largest number of channels in the ranking. The Discovery channel leads the Factual category, surpassing the average audience of its competitors by 131%.
WBD stood out mainly in the film and series, children’s and journalism segments. Discovery Home&Health is the most watched channel in the Lifestyle segment, with an average audience 116% higher than other channels. In Children’s, the Discovery Kids and Cartoon Network channels appear in first and second place, respectively.
According to the company, WBD also stood out in 2023 in the Films & Series category, with growth in share on pay TV, driven by Warner Channel, which showed an 18% increase in audience in the year, and by TNT Series, which had growth of 9% between January and December of the previous year.
