Waris lacks movement in Karnataka, cuts shows; Because Rashmika Mandana?

Waris, which was released on January 11 with Vijay as the hero, was given a grand welcome throughout South India. The first day celebrations of the film and the excitement of the fans were taken over by the social media. The movie also hit the box office. But there are reports that the film did not achieve success only in Karnataka.

News 18 also reports that 291 shows of Waris have been cut in Karnataka. Rumors are rife that the reason for the lack of movement at the Karnataka box office is because of Rashmika Mandana, who is the female lead in the film.

During an interview, Rashmika, while talking regarding the success of her debut film ‘Kirik Party’, sparked controversy when she did not name Rishabh Shetty’s production house Paramva Studios. Netizens are suggesting that this is the reason why the actress’ film did not succeed in Karnataka.

In 2016, Rashmika entered the acting field with the film Kirik Party with Rakshit Shetty. Rakshit is the co-founder of Paramva Studios. The film was directed by actor and director Rishabh Shetty.

The actress’ withdrawal from Rakshit-Rashmika’s romance, which reached the point of engagement, was also a topic of discussion among Kannada film audiences. There were also rumors that Rashmika had an undeclared ban in the Kannada film world itself. It is reported that the same thing happened to Varys. But neither theater owners nor distributors in Karnataka have commented on this incident. Rashmika’s film has been banned in Karnataka but there is no reaction yet.
