That’s it, Warcarft Rumble is out. The first game dedicated to mobile phones in the series has been available since yesterday, ahead of the official release communicated by Blizzard. Optimize points of interest on the map as much as possible
To get started, it is imperative to understand the rules. Warcraft Rumble pits the player once morest a computer (or another player) on vertical maps. They each have a team of figurines (spells or servants) led by a captain. It is the one who destroys the opposing building who wins the game. Gameplay that requires a certain tactic from the player: you have to know where to position your creatures among the authorized zones as well as knowing when to deploy them. Each figurine costs a certain amount of gold coins which is often proportional to its power. And of course, the player does not have infinite gold coins. Its reserve recharges slowly over time. But there is a way to cheat and above all to optimize its income as well as its aggressiveness.
These are the points of interest that should definitely be considered. First, there are gold ores and chests. They allow you to recover additional gold coins, allowing you to show more aggression by deploying additional figures to overwhelm your opponent. On the other hand, meeting stones and ballistae have a very different use that should not be neglected either.. Once occupied by your camp, they can serve as an additional deployment camp for your figures.
Generating more gold than your opponent and/or overwhelming them thanks to a better presence on the ground will be synonymous with victories. Conversely, defeats are often due to poor control of these points of interest on our part.
Create around captains and synergies: not having a team that wants to do everything
Obviously, the fate of the match also depends on the match-up faced. It’s even more so in real life in Player versus Player. But we cannot control the opposing team, so we might as well put all our efforts into the construction and synergy of our own composition. Like Battlegrounds, TeamFight Tactics or Clash Royale, Warcraft Rumble displays a tribe system. There are currently five of them: the Horde, the Alliance, the Beasts, the Undead and the Blackrocks.. Enough to highlight the importance of Chefs: they all have extremely important liabilities when you have to build your team. These passive talents are very powerful: it is therefore essential to exploit them to put all the chances on your side.
For example, Grommash grants the ability Bloodfury to all allies at his side. We will therefore favor figurines with the keyword Squad : the latter are often several which makes it possible to optimize the liabilities. In the same way, Maiev sees his cost reduced for each Deployment unit (figure that can be placed anywhere on the map) on the battlefield. The dragonet eggs near the control towers then serve as a quasi-permanent reduction for the champion. Finally, more clearly, Sylvanas increases the movement speed of all Horde and Undead units at her side. We will therefore not put animals or alliances in our team.
Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to read between the lines. Each passive, and therefore each hero, sets out a game plan. We want to be aggressive with Grommash or control points of interest with Maiev. It is therefore useless to put defensive spells for the first or poorly mobile units with the second. We want to maximize our chances of having figurines that benefit from our hero and vice versa.
Placement
In this type of game, there is often a placement of your units to respect if you want to claim victory. Keep in mind that it is better to put your ranged units behind melee units, whether they have a high number of HP or not. This makes it possible to optimize their profitability by inflicting heavy damage in the opposing ranks without losing them as soon as they are deployed.
Pay attention to equipment
Having game plans with each hero is already a big step in the right direction. We can now focus on improving our little figurines. To complicate the equation, each of them has a level that it increases with experience points. This level does not have much influence (each rise only allows an increase in life points and damage inflicted) except for the solo campaign. In Player versus Player mode, the figurines of both players are put at the same level as long as they are in the Bronze league. What makes the difference is the equipment. Like the leaders’ passives, they are very powerful but each unit has its own. Darkspear Trolls can increase their movement and attack speed by up to 50% by eliminating opposing creatures.
To unlock this equipment, we must then increase the rarity level of our figurine. This is done by directly purchasing an advanced figurine in the store or repurchasing a figurine that you already have. It should be understood that this only unlocks the equipment slot and not the additional equipment. Caution is therefore required, especially as only only one talent can be active on the battlefield.
Understand all resources
To succeed in Rumble, you also need to understand the role of each resource and the means of obtaining it. These are the figurines that serve as centerpieces. To improve them, there are four distinct resources to know.
As mentioned previously, there is experience. This simply allows you to increase the raw statistics of the figurines. It is obtained in various ways. At the end of each game (victory or defeat), a random figurine recovers experience. There are also quests, activities to focus on every day in order to increase your power: it is possible to repeat them a lot, although the experience bonuses are not interesting. They also make it possible to meet daily objectives. The latter can give tomes of a certain tribe as rewards, each tome containing several experience points to be awarded to three figurines.
Those with the ambition to enjoy Rumble without spending a single penny will seek to optimize one resource in particular: their gold coins. Money is the key to war, even in this fictional world: here it allows you to buy figurines in the store, which allows you to vary your compositions or improve those already existing. We will come back to this, but here you need to have more of the personality of torture than that of the hare. There are few, at the moment, very profitable ways to make gold. In fact, there is no daily way to save money. You must then be patient and wait, especially on Sundays and Thursdays.
Little tip that said! In Player versus Player mode, the best rating of the three champions is taken into account to calculate the player’s overall rating. We can therefore think regarding mounting three heroes at the same time to make it easier to obtain the first rewards linked to the ranking.
These are the days when the Arclight Surge arrives. By Blizzard’s admission, they “are the primary way for players to earn extra coins in Rumble“. Each wave alters two zones, allowing you to collect additional rewards even if you have already completed them. And besides gold coins, players can also get their hands on arclight. A prized resource that must be used with caution: in addition to the duplicates of a figurine (3 to upgrade to uncommon, then 10 to rare and 21 to epic), its improvement requires arclight. We will recover as much as possible as long as possible.
Finally, as shown below and mentioned above, stars are also necessary for improving figurines. They are obtained by collecting duplicates of the figurine that you want to make more powerful.
The importance of dungeons to improve your team
Once the 30 campaign stamps have been obtained, dungeon mode is unlocked.. It consists of a sequence of three very distinct maps, offering more gameplay possibilities. Before each new skirmish, a relic improving the figurines’ passive is offered to players. Depending on the theme of the week (at the time of writing, it is the Alliance which is in the spotlight), Chefs are proposed. Here then, Jaina; Maiëv or Uther. Dungeons can be chained together infinitely, but each completion with a hero increases the level of the dungeon by one. In return, the war troop linked to the hero benefits from permanent passives for other modes. For example, if I manage to complete the maps without losing too many times with Maiev, the level of my next dungeon will be +1 (we start at 5, so 6 if applicable). But some of my troops, linked to the keyword I choose to improve, can display a higher level as shown in the images below.
At the start of the game, you should then keep your gold to buy the heroes available in the store, especially if they correspond to the theme of the dungeon of the week. This allows you to diversify your collection and have varied game plans in the event of a problem.
A mobile experience above all: there is no hurry
The principle of the hare and the tortoise also applies in the way the game is consumed. As said previously, the main ways to earn gold coins are limited: only on Thursday and Sunday, for a total of 10 levels . It will therefore inevitably come up during your adventure, in the campaign or once morest other players, that you are blocked. This is normal: Warcraft Rumble wants you to be consistent. There is no point in investing 150 hours right out of the game. You will get frustrated and stall, especially given the marginal experience gains made from your defeats.
We can therefore only advise you to wait until the next day to collect the daily volumes and/or troupes. And if you really want to play, try to pass your nerves on another game mode: PvP or dungeon for example. It also sometimes happens that only the end-of-world bosses are really tough, or that a change of axis during a battle changes things. Just be aware of your helplessness when it happens, it’s expected. Nothing stops you from completing the following levels to collect a little money, improve your army, and come back to beat the shit out of the enemy who dragged you through the mud.
