War in Ukraine: update on the events of February 12

This February 12 marked the 353rd day of conflict in Ukraine. Here is a summary of the most important elements:

  • According to the daily bulletin of the British Ministry of Defence, “Over the past two weeks, Russia has probably suffered its highest number of casualties since the first week of the invasion of Ukraine.”
  • During the day, the leader of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner claimed that his troops took the Ukrainian town of Krasna Hora, a few kilometers north of Bakhmout. AFP might not verify these statements from an independent source.
