The 312th day of war in Ukraine has started with new Russian bombardments on kyiv, it ended the same way with new drone attacks, especially near Mykolaiv in the south. Earlier in the day, Ukrainian officials announced the death of four people, including a 22-year-old woman, in Russian-led strikes on New Year’s Eve. According to Moscow, these strikes, which also injured 50, targeted drone manufacturing facilities.
These strikes had paralyzed the kyiv metro for a moment, before the service was restored.
In eastern Ukraine, where Russia has been trying for weeks to take the city of Bakhmout, Ukrainian forces say they have killed 170 Russian soldiers. Russia gives no figures on these losses.
