War in Ukraine: “The end will come from within”

The departure to Turkey of a close adviser to Putin might be a sign that the economic sanctions imposed on Russia are working, believes a former ambassador to Russia and Poland.

“When people close to power leave like that, it means that everything is not going very well around Poutine”, therefore believes Anne Leahy.

According to her, it is clear that all, advisers or even Russian citizens, do not agree with the actions of the president. However, it is unclear whether this will have an impact on the war and whether the ruler’s influence is actually waning.

“The end, on the other hand, will come from within, and it will come from very strong pressure,” she predicts.

She says the gold sanctions announced by Joe Biden at the NATO Summit this week are a good example of consequences that will really affect the Russians and might lead to a possible revolt.
